Assessment & Examination Criteria

The assessment system at Carlo Cavina School is designed to evaluate the academic progress, discipline, participation, and overall development of students in a fair and systematic manner. The school follows a continuous and comprehensive evaluation process that helps students improve their learning abilities, performance, and sense of responsibility.

The academic year is divided into two semesters, and students undergo four major assessments, namely Formative Assessments (FA1 & FA2) and Summative Assessments (SA1 & SA2). Regular reports regarding conduct, academic progress, and attendance are communicated to parents and guardians to keep them informed about the performance and development of their children.

Students who are absent for examinations or tests for any reason will not be re-examined and will lose the marks allotted for the assessment. Absence without a valid reason or prior written permission from the school authorities will be treated as a failure in the examination. A minimum attendance of 75% is mandatory for students to appear for examinations. Students who fail to meet the required attendance criteria may not be permitted to sit for the examinations.

Academic honesty and discipline are considered essential values of the institution. Any student found copying or using unfair means during examinations, even if discovered later, will be treated as having failed in the examination concerned. Students who fail twice in the same class may not be permitted to continue their studies in the school. Promotion to the next class depends not only on academic performance but also on good conduct, punctuality, regular attendance, and a responsible attitude.

The school reserves the right to withdraw a student’s name from the list of examination candidates for reasons such as unsatisfactory academic progress, serious misconduct, dishonesty, absence from tests or examinations, or non-payment of fees. The results declared by the school are final and cannot be reconsidered. Answer scripts of final examinations will not be shown to parents or students, and the school office will not entertain requests regarding the same.

Through this structured evaluation system, Carlo Cavina School aims to encourage discipline, sincerity, academic excellence, and the holistic growth of every student.
